The wellness area was a highlight, with an excellent 1.5 m² space with both indoor and outdoor pools. The restaurant offered a delectable five-course taster menu, skillfully presented and undoubtedly delicious. The spacious Superior Suite with River View boasted amazing views of the Isel River.
Check-in confusion.

What a gem of a hotel! The room was large and comfortable, with a lovely Juliette balcony and a beautifully appointed bathroom with a full bath and double sinks. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of options, and we enjoyed dinner on the terrace overlooking the scenic Isel River. The five-course taster menu was really good.

The room was large and comfortable. The restaurant was fantastic with dishes to tickle the palate of the most jaded gourmet. The staff friendly and very helpful.
I cannot think of anything.

The spa is excellent, luxurious and the staff are true profesionals and fantastic.Very good bar staff and one exceptional breakfast waiter who was slightly older than the other staff but a true star.
A rediculous system of having reserved tables for breakfast. When I mentioned this to the manageress, her answewr to me was " you had a table, didn"t you". Not having the hotel telephone number on the room telephones so one does not have to trawl through the hotel paperwork to find the number. Why have a plastic badge pinned onto your dressing gown with the room number clearly displayed , this is for children not adults staying in a 5* hotel.

Staying at the Grandhotel Lienz was good. The views from my Superior Suite with River View were fine. The outdoor dining area overlooking the Isel River created a picturesque setting for breakfast. I enjoyed the variety offered at the breakfast buffet. The quality was really good. The staff did an excellent job keeping the dining experience enjoyable despite the crowds. My room was spacious, well-appointed, and clean, with comfortable beds. The balcony was a lovely spot to relax after a day of hiking. The check-in process was a bit confusing. I felt uninformed about the hotel's amenities at first. The need for a €10 charge for underground parking seemed a bit excessive, considering the lack of free street options. While the hotel had great dining experiences, the breakfast service could be more organized. I had to find my own table and ask staff for drinks. Minor inconveniences didn't overshadow the beautiful ambiance and quality of the stay.
